Truly Dreadful Film

good back-story, and good acting
It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.
10/10 for this movie. I totally loved it.. every death scene was great. I was shocked at many parts. The first one, was went Alex was betrayed by her own brother and drowned in the pond outback. I really thought she'd make it to the end. She was strong, and beautiful. I never really expected Brent to get as far as he did... especially when he was shot... as for that cry baby, he should have gone sooner as far as im concerned. Jennifer's character shocked me the MOST. She always seemed so innocent and adorable. I wasn't a fan of hers, but i was truly shocked when she tried to kill her boyfriend at the end. When Amber was shot, i was really sad. Amber was my favorite. But when she kicked Jen's a**, it was awesome. I was happy Amber made it out. of all people i didn't think she would in the beginning. But if u look back on it, Amber was very sneaky and careful about what she did. She was weak, and thats how she played it out. She kept a calm, clear head until she had to kill towards the end. She killed her ex who left her, and killed the rest of her friends. That was the best death scene of the movie. When she came up from down cellar and read the note, "NO MORE PILLS AMBER. USE THIS..." and she pulled out a gun i was shocked. I thought she was gonna kill them both. But she didn't, instead she got shot which she recovered from later which was pretty shocking and a little too un-realistic. But overall great movie definitely worth watching. Carlos was another one to watch die :( I liked him, but i knew his personality would make him one of the first to go. And i was even more sure of that when his girlfriend died. My prediction was right, Carlos didn't think with a clear mind which is why he didn't make it in the end, and Amber did.
Kill Theory is a film that looked really bad in my opinion, the trailers were not very good and the film didn't get very good reviews and it honestly seemed like another torture porn, ,,Saw wannabe" However that is not what you get. This film blew my mind, it is a slasher but it has thriller elements. The acting is all right and the photography was really good. The movie is gory and delivers on the slasher front. The thing that i didn't expect from the film was the psychological horror, which was very good. The film is very intense and did surprise me a lot. And without spoiling, the ending is awesome! Horror fans will enjoy it. 7/10
First time director Chris Moore and first time screenplay writer Kelly C. Palmer surely aimed best at their first times and they have managed to do so. In their horror thriller Kill Theory, they have proved to have talent and vision. Kill Theory is a film skinned out of clichés and predictable plot twists and it gives a lot of joy to the admirers of smart plot twists. The film begins with a conversation of a psychiatrist and a mental patient (Kevin Gage) who was the only survivor of an accident of questionable circumstances. Nobody knows if he killed all those people or if it was an accident and he was actually the survivor. After this. we learn that he was released from the mental hospital due to his good behavior. Following this background information, a group of eight is introduced. They are best friends from college and they are planning to have a nice party to celebrate their upcoming graduation. They find a nice, secluded house and start their night. Expecting to have fun, they face the psychopath's trap. He pulls them in an involuntary and deadly game and says that they have to kill each other to survive, because there will only be one of them surviving and they should try to be this one. This sounds a little like SAW, but a distinction is that in this movie, they have to kill their best friends, girl friends, boyfriends and character development along with the plot is so good that you do not know what will happen next and who the sole survivor will be. This horror thriller is like a missing gem, precious and solid. Horror thriller fans would love this and be disappointed for not being able to see this one on a wide screen theater.
I thought this was decent and better than expected bloody thriller with solid acting but this horror theme is very tiresome and recycled now and is no longer thrilling or scary. I thought it was well paced and had ordinary but very brutal kills but what really stands out in this movie and what makes it interesting is the psychological mind games the characters play on each other and the hard decisions they make in order to survive this twisted cat and mouse game. This is pretty much survival of the fittest for the slasher crowd with a mix of Saw, Scream and Battle Royale but less inventive because in the end nothing really stands out in this and is a forgettable throw away. I does have better production values than previous slashers from after dark horrorfest but like most movies from that fest you won't even remember the name of it in a few years. Overall it had an intriguing tagline, decent but as expected leads, ruthless violence and a harsh psychological, cat and mouse game the characters are forced to play and the final twist which is both the highlight of this otherwise forgettable thriller. Worth at least a rental but not a must see.
