Plot: A self-assured rebel who resembles the legendary Robin Hood defies authority in Bathurst's adaptation in order to support the oppressed. Though the film captures the spirit of the legend, its modern embellishments and overt political stance make the translation difficult. It deviates from historical realism and turns into a fantastic story for modern readers. Its portrayal of the ageless hero's journey is teetering between brilliance and disappointment despite its occasionally insightful but unremarkable execution.
