Plot: Matt Scudder is a private eye and a former police officer. A drug dealer asks him to track out the individuals who abducted his wife. Even after he paid them, it appears that they still killed her. Scudder declines. However, the guy informs him how his wife was slain when he visits him later. Scudder accepts the position. After doing some investigation, he believes that the individuals he is searching for have committed this crime more than once and that each person they took is associated with a drug dealer.
